Going to Remediation > Plans is just one way to create a remediation plan in DeepSurface. For some of our users it makes sense to go to that interface, start selecting items, and finish the plan in one sitting. For others, it feels more natural to explore the interface and add items to a remediation plan as you naturally find them within the different reports and interfaces. For that, we have the remediation workflow.

Adding items throughout the interface is quite simple. The best place to start is in the Risk Insight section, in any of the main reports (Hosts, Patches, Vulnerabilites). You will notice that each row in the report table at the bottom of the screen has a checkbox in the far left. Checking any of these boxes for any row, will bring up a button that allows you to add to the selected item to a remediation plan. After clicking this button, the workflow will walk you through the steps to create a new remediation plan and add the selected item.

Remediation Workflow - step 1

If you have not yet made any remediation plans, or have no plans that are currently in a draft state, you will be asked to create a new plan at this time and the selected item will be added to the newly created plan.

Remediation Workflow - step 2 Remediation Workflow - step 3

Once you complete the plan and add the item(s), you can either go work on the plan or leave the workflow and add more items. From here you can then continue to keep navigating the interface and add items to this plan, or even create a new draft plan to add items to. Anytime you select items in the interface and choose to add, you can click the plan name in the 'Current:' field and either switch to a different draft plan or create a new draft plan to work on.

Remediation Workflow - step 4

You can always access the current remediation plan and see what has been added to it by clicking the remediation cart icon at the right of the screen. Open the different sections to see what has been added and at any time you can click "Go to Plan" and you will be taken to that plan in the Remediation > Plans interface and you will see that all the items that you have been added are present in right hand column of the second tab.
