Wazuh integration with DeepSurface pulls both vulnerability data and compliance data discovered by Wazuh into the DeepSurface console. Wazuh's API is username/password based, and implementing it requires the creation of a new user in Wazuh that has the appropriate permissions. Be sure you read through the documentation on Securing the Wazuh API.

Create a User in Wazuh

  1. Log into your Wazuh server with credentials that are able to create new users and navigate to Server Management > Security.

Create User in Wazuh

  1. Click on the 'Users' tab. There are two default users in the console that should remain untouched. Create a new user to integrate with DeepSurface by clicking on the 'Create User' button.

Create User in Wazuh

  1. Configure the user as shown below, assigning the role 'administrator' to the user', and click 'Apply'.

Create User in Wazuh

  1. Log into your DeepSurface web console and navigate to Scanning > Vulnerability Sources

DeepSurface Vuln Sources

  1. Click the '+ Vulnerability Source' button at the top right of the page

DeepSurface Vuln Sources

  1. Select 'Wazuh' from the drop down of vulnerability source selections, and enter the data appropriate to your environment. Use the new user you created and the password, and if you would like to exclude the data Wazuh produces from its own self scanning process, click the checkbox next to 'Include Wazuh VM in scanning results?'

DeepSurface Vuln Sources

  1. Click on the 'Import' button to begin importing data from your instance of Wazuh. Keep the check box selected that allows the next task in sequence to execute, and the data imported will be immediately analyzed after the import is complete.
